Before The Houston Chronicle, we had the Houston Post. Founded in 1880 by Gail Borden Johnson, the Houston Post was the city’s major newspaper for well over a century. In April of 1995, The Houston printed its last edition after being purchased by the parent company of The Houston Chronicle.
